Russ Stiver

Russ has 25 years experience in the finance industry as a lender and institutional investor.  He spent several years at the Royal Bank of Canada, first analyzing various strategic initiatives and then structuring lending agreements for emerging growth and large multinational customers.  In 1996, Russ joined Manulife Financial as a High Yield Portfolio Manager, later becoming team leader managing over $1B in investments.    Russ moved to the United States in 2000, completing two successful portfolio re-positioning assignments and advising several large hedge funds on specific strategies and investments.  Along the way Russ has made several billions of dollars of investments in over 1,000 companies including dozens in early stage companies.

Russ happily retired in 2013.  However, he joined SCFCan in 2016 to serve as its Chief Financial Officer.  Russ’ primary responsibilities as CFO are to work with SCFCan founders to develop financial projections and contingencies, evaluate financing options and establish accounting policies and procedures.
